Dr. Mike Lavelle is a scholar-practitioner with over 35 years of senior and executive management experience with small to mid-size firms. His broad range of experience includes restaurant management, wholesale building material distribution, and manufacturing. A hands-on manager with a passionate interest in the human element, he has a strong history of strategic management and turn-around efforts.
Dr. Lavelle believes that being a teacher is who he is rather than what he does. His teaching career began in 2002 in a ground-based program and quickly moved to the still-developing online modality. He is an award-winning instructor who is able to convert complex theory into understandable business examples. He served as the associate dean for an online university before joining NHU's faculty. In addition, he teaches at Walden University.
