Anthony E. Morgan, Ed.D.

Research Interests
Teacher education, family and parent involvement, recruitment and retention of black male teachers, closing the achievement gap of black boys, classroom management, early childhood, community college leadership

Background
Dr. Morgan has more than 15 years of experience in the areas of early childhood education, child development, and higher education. Currently, Dr. Morgan is the lead faculty member for three of the undergraduate courses in the Bachelor of Science in Child Development program at Walden University. While at Walden, Dr. Morgan has taught in the Master of Science in Early Childhood Studies program and served as a university supervisor in teacher education. Dr. Morgan also has worked with Kaplan University, the University of South Carolina Upstate, Benedict College, and the United States Army Training Center at Fort Jackson, S.C.

Recently, Dr. Morgan was appointed to the City of Columbia Citizen's Advisory Committee for Community Development Board. Dr. Morgan is a former consulting editor for Young Child, the Journal for the National Association for the Education of Young Children. In 2006, he was chosen as an American Educational Research Association Emerging Scholar.
