Jamie Smith, M.A.

Research Interests
Intra- and interpersonal dynamics within social and professional environments, self-esteem challenges, life transitions, addictions, adult mental health, social/emotional development of children and adults, conflict resolution processes.

Jamie Smith has spent more than 17 years teaching young children and youths in home and school settings. Having also served as an administrator in a private preschool in Silicon Valley for eight years, Smith has extensive background working with adults and children. Following the Constructivist Theory within higher education settings, her progressive and hands-on approach to adult learning has been enthusiastically received by students and professors alike. She joined The National Hispanic University in the fall of 2011, teaching courses in early childhood education and child development. She brings great desire to create opportunities for students to be engaged in their own learning with an approach that enriches the student's current and future academic and professional endeavors.
