Teaching and Learning Specialization
You can become a leader in your field by helping to support diversity and equity in the classroom. With this program, you can develop professional, specialized skills that can enhance your ability to address diversity and the achievement gap. Using current research on the needs of English learners as a foundation, the program is designed to help you learn valuable techniques for improving teaching methods and student achievement in multicultural settings.

You will have the opportunity to gain insight on creating an environment of acceptance and equity in your classroom. You can benefit from the latest research on best teaching practices, lesson planning, and the design of educational activities, all with an emphasis on meeting the needs of a culturally diverse student population.

Signature Course

Differentiated Instruction in Practice
In this signature course, you’ll learn how to evaluate the needs of individual, diverse students so that you can personalize your instruction to improve student learning and engagement in your classroom. You’ll focus on improving student achievement through differentiated curriculum and instruction; learning about and applying best practices; teaching for understanding, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making; and accommodating teaching and learning styles.
