Research Interests
Child developmental psychology, bilingual educational development, effective teaching methods

Professor Shabaniani has spent more than 15 years teaching in the California and Arizona school systems. She joined The National Hispanic University in early 2012, where she is a part-time faculty member for the Education Department and a student supervisor. Her most recent assignment was teaching pedagogy for the teacher credential program. Currently, she is teaching Spanish and manages a freshmen outreach home visitation project where teams of teachers are assigned to conduct home visits with incoming freshman students entering high school.
