Adriana Ayala

Adriana Ayala’s interests include women’s and ethnoracial history in the United States and Chicana/o and Latina/o history.  She received her B.A. in history with a minor in ethnic studies at the University of California at Berkeley and her M.A. in history from the University of Texas at Austin, where she is currently working on her Ph.D. in history.  For her dissertation, she examines how women negotiated race relations within their involvement in different organizations in San Antonio, TX.

Currently, Adriana Ayala is the coordinator of the Liberal Studies Department at the National Hispanic University.  She also teaches U.S. History and Ethnic Studies courses at NHU.

On her spare time, Adriana enjoys running.  She has participated in several marathons in Austin, Los Angeles, and Chicago, and in 2005 she plans to run the Honolulu marathon.
