(San Jose, CA)—Jan. 24, 08 The National Hispanic University (NHU) welcomes Juan Necochea, Ph.D. as university provost. After a national search for the position of provost, NHU is pleased to announce that Juan Necochea has joined NHU. As Provost he will oversee NHU’s academic programs and the Latino College Preparatory Academy (LCPA).

Dr. Necochea was a professor at California State University, San Marcos for 11 years in the College of Education and was the recipient of the 2008 Brakebill Distinuished Professor Award. He also served as the Director of the Center for the Study of Border Pedagogy and Principal Investigator for the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP). Dr. Necochea entered the professoriate with ample experiences as a K-12 educator, with 10 years as a classroom teacher, six as an elementary school principal, and two years as a high school principal. Dr. Necochea received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Santa Barbara and has conducted extensive research and publications.
The National Hispanic University is a private non-profit, accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges, (WASC), 4-year university authorized to grant degrees since 1981. NHU offers degrees in Liberal Studies, Business and Computer Science, as well as teacher credentialing and certificates in Translation & Interpretation.
