Social Science and Social Issues

Humanity and its relationship with society is the core of social science. This concentration can help you learn how to use social science theories and methodologies to better understand Latinos, other groups, and their roles in modern society.

Gain knowledge on applying approaches from such fields as anthropology, multicultural relations, microeconomics, and human development to the complex challenges facing the Latino community and other groups in the 21st century. Add your own heritage and you can prepare for a challenging career focusing on diverse populations. Through a signature capstone course in Advanced Multicultural Relations, you’ll gain a deep understanding of a range of cultures so that you can be successful in diverse environments.

Choosing this concentration can prepare you for a career in:

  • Market research
  • Government
  • Community organizing
  • Survey research
