Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies- General Option

Translation & Interpretation

Organizations and businesses need skilled and trained professionals to help overcome potential language barriers. If your goal is to use your language skills to assist others, this concentration can help bilingual students like you become highly competent in the art of translation and interpretation.

You must be able to speak, read, and write at an advanced level in English and Spanish to be admitted into this concentration. Fluency is determined by an interview with the director of the program and by a placement examination upon selection of this concentration. In addition to the 21 units in this concentration, you will take any approved elective from NHU’s offerings. You may obtain the Translation and Interpretation Certificate without enrolling in the B.A. in Liberal Studies program.

The program is designed to prepare you for a career as a:

  • Court reporter

Career positions may require additional experience, training, or other factors beyond the successful completion of this degree program.
