Mathew Espinosa, M.A.

Research Interests
Educating English language learners, language teaching, bilingual education, applied linguistics, multicultural education

Professor Mathew Espinosa has taught courses in both the Teacher Education and Liberal Studies departments at The National Hispanic University since 2010. He has simultaneously worked full time for the San José Unified School District as a teacher, instructional coach, program coordinator, and administrator. Previously, he taught English and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He has also taught at elementary and secondary schools in California, Hawaii, Tennessee, Chile, and Hong Kong. Professor Espinosa has regularly participated in and presented at the annual conferences for the National Council of Teachers of English and the Association of Two-Way & Dual Language Education. He is also a former president of the Hawaii Association of Second Language Studies Student Association.
