Marilyn Vogel, Ph.D.

Research Interests
Geology, environmental science, geography, scientific writing

Dr. Marilyn Vogel has worked as a teacher, writer, editor, and researcher. As a graduate student, she studied how biology and geology interact in the rock record and conducted field research in California and other areas of the western United States. She worked as a researcher at the SETI Institute, studying life in extreme environments and contributing to the Mars science program. She has taught natural sciences at colleges in the Bay Area and works as a freelance scientific editor. Dr. Vogel has advised on and contributed to scientific programming on the BBC and other media outlets. She joined NHU's faculty in 2013, teaching courses in the Mathematics and Science Department.
