Monette Elizalde, Ph.D.

Research Interests
Trends and technology in mathematics education, effectiveness of online and blended courses

Dr. Monette Elizalde began her teaching career at the elementary and high school levels. Her postsecondary teaching career began in 2004. She has been developing and teaching online courses since 2005 and is versed in various online platforms. Dr. Elizalde has experience teaching education and mathematics courses. Her expertise ranges from the developmental level through calculus, with a graduate degree concentration in real analysis and the integration of mathematics and science. Dr. Elizalde specializes in preparing future teachers by educating them on the practices of differentiated instruction. She serves on various committees in her community and has received the Outstanding Hispanic Women Role Model Award, North East Independent School District Superintendent's Summa Cum Laude Graduate Award and the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce 6th Annual Doctoral Achievement Award. She joined the mathematics faculty at NHU in 2013.
