The
mission of the Teacher Education Department is to prepare teachers
who are effective in California's culturally and linguistically
diverse schools. An effective teacher knows a variety of approaches
to teaching and classroom management for large groups, small
groups, and individuals. An effective teacher uses approaches
appropriate for the purposes of a given lesson and meets the
developmental needs of students from various cultural, socioeconomic
and linguistic backgrounds. |
