Background
Professor Ryan-Thaanum is a graduate of The National Hispanic University's Translation and Interpretation certificate program, in which she now teaches. Prior to joining the university in 2010, she worked as a public school teacher in California and spent more than 30 years as a bilingual educator, teaching math, English-language development, and Spanish to both native speakers and second-language learners. Her background also includes experience as a translator and interpreter.
