To qualify for admission into our teacher credential program, you need a:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (with a lower GPA, you may request "conditional" admission).
California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST) score of 123, with 37 or better on each of the sections. If you are entering via the Multiple Subject Credential Pathway, you have the following options to pass the CBEST:
Pass all three subtests of the California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET): Multiple Subject in addition to the CSET: Writing Skills.
Completed NHU admission application
Official transcript from each college attended (printed in the last five years and sealed by each school)
Two letters of recommendation
GPA appeal letter (if your secondary school GPA was below 3.0 and you are seeking “conditional” admission)
