2014 Commencement

At the National Hispanic University, commencement ceremonies are joyful, memorable occasions at which we recognize the achievements of our students and the cultural diversity of our institution.

Save the Date—May 17, 2014

Graduation Regalia and Orders

Through Jostens, you can order your graduation regalia as well as invitations, announcements, and class rings. The deadline to order all regalia online without incurring a $20 rush fee was April 10, 2014. After April 10, students should call 1-800-854-7464 and order by May 9. No orders will be taken after May 9.

It is the student's responsibility to order his or her graduation items. Keep in mind shipping time allowances. You may access the Jostens' website (www.jostens.com) for more information. Note: Graduation items may appear silver in color on the website, but when ordered, items will be the standard colors for NHU, which are on file with Jostens.

Individual Portraits: Photos will be taken of each graduate walking across the stage and receiving their diploma. Graduates have the option of purchasing these photos after commencement at: www.Estradaphotos.com. These photos will be uploaded to the site by May 24.

Group Photos: A group photo will be taken on Saturday, May 17, at 9:15 a.m. Additional instructions will be provided when you arrive for commencement.

Graduates must submit a Conferral of Degree form, available at Student Services, in order to process their degree or certificate and order the diploma or certificate. The Conferral of Degree form may be submitted within or after the final academic term as long as requirements have been met. Students without a Conferral of Degree form on file will not be awarded their degree until the form is submitted. Submit this form to the Office of the Registrar. You will be contacted by the Office of the Registrar once the diplomas are ready.

Once a student completes all course requirements and submits a Conferral of Degree form, undergraduate and graduate students will be charged the $50 graduation fee; students in the Translation and Interpretation certificate program will pay a $25 fee. These fees cover the administrative costs to process your diploma or certificate.
