POSITION: ADMISSIONS CLERK
OFFICE:
Office of Admissions and Registrar
STATUS: PART
TIME (10/15 hours per week)
REPORTS
TO:
Director, Office of Admissions & Registrar.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent customer service at Office of Admissions & Registrar
front desk
- Perform clerical duties for Office of Admissions & Registrar
as needed (appointments, information
packets, etc.)
- Disseminate general NHU information to prospective and current
students (Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, Pre-College
Programs)
- Regulate student flow to division offices
- Place phone calls to students disseminating and collecting information
- Data entry – Outreach & Recruitment
- Update Outreach & Recruitment calendar
- Develop positive and professional relationships with prospective
students to promote NHU
- Conduct prospective student interest follow-up via phone, mail-outs
and email
- Participate in departmental meetings to ensure coordination
of outreach activities with other departments
and divisions
- Participate in internal and external professional development
training seminars
- Aid in implementation of special events and activities
- Flexible Schedule; some weekend availability
- Perform related duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Student at NHU enrolled at least half-time per semester of employment;
in good academic standing
- Federal Work Study eligible
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access,
Power Point)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Professional phone skills
- Bilingual Skills (English/Spanish) preferred
- One year commitment preferred
