INF 100 is a course designed to improve your skills in determining what information you need, in finding it and evaluating it. You will learn about how information is organized and how to make use of that organization. You will also learn how to detect the point of view of an information source, and to consider it in determining its usefulness to you. We will also discuss some of the ethical and legal issues involved in information use and production. This is a course designed for life-long learning in the information age.

The required text for this course is Carla List's Introduction to Information Research, (Dubuque, IA: Kendall Hunt Publishing Company, 1998).
