Why NHU?
Mission
Statement:
“The mission of the
National Hispanic University is to enable Hispanics, other minorities,
women, and others to acquire an undergraduate degree or certificate
using a multicultural educational experience to obtain a professional
career in business, education, or technology.”
Student Support:
NHU focuses on the
individual student, providing support and resources to help you achieve
academic success. With an average class size of 12, individual tutoring
provided by our Student Academic Assistance
Center, and regular academic advising sessions with an assigned faculty
advisor- NHU provides students with a unique individualized learning
experience. Every member of our staff and faculty is dedicated to
creating a supportive environment that helps you to achieve your
educational and professional objectives. NHU has been successful in
creating a positive learning experience that motivates students to
maximize their potential both personally and academically.
Faculty:
NHU’s
esteemed faculty—many of whom are adjunct professors from UC Berkeley,
Stanford University and University of San Francisco—is as diverse and
energetic as the student body. These experts in their fields dedicate
themselves to being positive role models, guiding and encouraging
students through their college experience. At NHU students do not just
learn from their professors, they grow with them.
Partnerships:
NHU’s unique
Partnership Agreement with San Jose State University allows
students to take elective classes toward their major degree at NHU. The
SJSU agreement also provides access to career center and job search
services.
NHU’s has developed
partnerships with: NASA-Ames Research Center, DeAnza/ Foothill Community

and the Santa Clara County Office of Education. In addition, we have
sustained important partnerships with several community serving
non-profit and corporate entities.
