SAAC REFFERAL PROCESS FOR NHU INSTRUCTORS

Step I: Faculty Referral (Done On-line) – The faculty recommends the student for tutorial services in the Student Academic Assistance Center and advises/encourages the individual to use the tutorial services in the SAAC.

Step II: The SAAC staff receives the student referral and reviews it.

Step III: The student is expected to come to the SAAC within one week. If the student does not show up within a week from the referral date, then a SAAC tutor will contact the instructor and let him/her know that the student has not come to the SAAC yet.

Step IV: The SAAC staff will create a file for the student and write down the areas that have been worked on. The SAAC will report back to the faculty about the status of the student.

Step V: Data collection and sharing with the faculty will be conducted on a continuous basis.

Step VI: Standard follow-up with the instructor via e-mail or in person.
