Professor Hofemann has served as chair of the Teacher Education program for The National Hispanic University for nearly 15 years. She currently teaches math and science methods, reading, and linguistics courses and leads teacher seminars. She worked in public education for more than 40 years. During her career, she has taught second through eighth grade, worked with high school teachers, and mentored new teachers. She also has served as a student advisor, assistant principal, principal, and director of instruction for the Santa Clara County Office of Education in Santa Clara, Calif. Professor Hofemann has been trained in and has created professional development programming in a variety of areas, including classroom management, instructional strategies, differentiation, and literacy.
